Joe Brooks Superman Complete

Jake and Morris Superman
The Joe Brooks song Superman Jake and I chose in the end already had a video. We were faced with using it for inspiration and not bold facedly copying it. From the original video we took the lesson that it is a good idea whether or not you have a narrative to include lots of performance within the video. Whilst the original video had much more of a narrative bent we preferred to stick to performance allowing us to film several excellent shots which fit well to the music although straying from the story contained in the lyrics. The original music video portrayed the story of Joe through a relationships whilst the song describes all the things he would do for his girlfriend if he could. The mark of a good narrative music video is one which seemingly merges narrative and performance.
For the most part the video we produced is performance based composed of shots of Jake playing guitar and myself lip syncing to the song.

Being as we are not being formally judged on this video we also decided to include some humour in the video for instance in one shot Jake is holding a tennis racket instead of his guitar and if you slow down the end credits it actually turns into a long rant for comedic effect.
